Hunting Horn Players Prepare Ansbach for Christmas

Christmas Horn Sounds in the Heart of Ansbach

When the Ansbach Christmas market shines in lights, the hunting horn players of the Hunters' Association set a powerful musical accent. On Sunday, December 6, 2026, festive Christmas songs and atmospheric hunting horn sounds will resonate in Martin Luther Square.

Warm Horn Sound Meets Advent Atmosphere

The concert combines the open fullness of traditional hunting horns with the special atmosphere of the Ansbach Christmas market. Amidst stalls, lights, and a wintery old town backdrop, an immediate concert experience emerges that takes visitors right into the pre-Christmas mood.

A Tradition-Rich Brass Corps

The hunting horn player group of the Ansbach Hunters' Association was founded in 1955. The ensemble consists of around 20 players aged 20 to 85 years. The musical profile includes Fürst-Pless horns and Parforce horns in B, as well as hunter marches, hunting signals, and funeral signals.

Precision, Connection to Nature, and Festive Music

The stage performance thrives on synchronization, clean tuning balance, and the characteristic resonance of nature horns. The group regularly performs at public events, Hubertus celebrations, and other festive occasions. At Bavarian state brass competitions, the corps recently achieved gold classification for the 13th time in a row.

A Musical Moment for the Whole Family

The one-hour concert begins at 5:00 PM and invites you to combine your visit to the Christmas market with a special live moment. The powerful signals of the horns, the light shine, and the winter old town create an impressive connection of tradition, music, and Advent.

For those who love traditional brass music and atmospheric Christmas moments, experiencing the hunting horn players of the Hunters' Association up close at Martin Luther Square is a must.
