When Hollywood meets Cello and Piano
In the historic St. Gumbertus Church in Ansbach, the duo CelloForte! transforms well-known film music into an intense live concert experience. Oleg Galperin, former solo cellist and conservatory lecturer of the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic, performs together with youth culture award winner Leonhard Kraut.
Cinematic Soundscapes in Sacred Atmosphere
The unique acoustics of St. Gumbertus provide the arrangements with space for depth, resonance, and dramatic tension. Cello and piano paint musical landscapes that evoke great cinematic moments: sometimes dark and mysterious, sometimes majestic, rhythmically precise and full of orchestral power.
From Pirates of the Caribbean to Game of Thrones
The program features well-known themes from Hollywood and popular film worlds. Selections include Pirates of the Caribbean, Game of Thrones, and The Hunt for Red October. The pieces specially arranged for cello and piano transfer distinctive soundtracks into a chamber music setting, making melody guidance, synchronization, and musical dramaturgy immediately audible.
Between Bach, Liszt, and Modern Film Music
Between the cinematic highlights, musical windows to classical music open. Works or excerpts from the realms of Bach and Liszt provide contrasts and show how closely film music is connected to classical orchestration, motif work, and emotional sound design.
A Concert Evening for Film Fans and Classical Music Lovers
CelloForte! combines stage performance, musical expertise, and the emotional directness of great film themes. The concert experience is aimed at visitors who wish to experience film music not just from speakers but in an immediate live atmosphere.
Conclusion: Experience Film Music Up Close
The audience can expect an atmospheric concert evening with familiar melodies, surprising classical references, and the warm timbre of the cello. Those who want to combine Hollywood soundtracks, sacred acoustics, and chamber music precision can experience CelloForte! live on October 10, 2026, at St. Gumbertus in Ansbach.
