Rau & Fein | Menu & Reservation

Rau & Fein in Ansbach stands for a gastronomic idea that consciously appears calm, clear, and high-quality. The restaurant at Platenstraße 24 presents itself as a fine dining address in the heart of Ansbach's old town, combining a family atmosphere with modern culinary art. The website does not make loud presentations but works precisely: seasonal menus, carefully selected products, honest craftsmanship, and warm service form the core of its positioning. This is exactly what creates the charm of this location. Those looking for Rau & Fein expect not just a restaurant but a coherent overall experience of cuisine, wine, hospitality, and an ambiance that suits both a dinner for two and an exclusive celebration. The official representation is strikingly consistent: fine dining in the heart of Ansbach, a clear commitment to the season, and a wine selection that sensibly accompanies the menu. Menu and Seasonal Fine Dining Cuisine

The menu at Rau & Fein clearly shows the culinary direction the house is taking. It describes a modern fine dining cuisine with character, from appetizers to desserts. The formulation that the menu is seasonal, honest, and prepared with craftsmanship fits well. This combination is important because it not only names a style but also sets expectations for the dishes: it’s about products that impress in the moment, clear flavors, and a cuisine that does not appear overloaded but finely balanced. Even the appetizers make this visible. The menu features salads with yellow and striped beets, radishes, pomegranate, watermelon, red onion, pine nuts, and croutons, accompanied by pomegranate or Caesar dressing. There are also variations with filet tips, shrimp, or oyster mushrooms. Other examples include mushroom bruschetta with black garlic, lemon oil, and basil oil, scallops with paprika beurre blanc and jalapeños, as well as watermelon carpaccio with ponzu gel, pine nuts, fried capers, and crispy shallots. This selection shows a cuisine that values freshness, texture, and modern combinations. The main courses follow this approach as well. The menu includes moules frites, tagliatelle with seasonal mushrooms and sugar snap peas, pork belly with jus, pak choi, apple risotto, and cola glaze, venison loin with romanesco, blueberries, Lorette fries, and parsnip, sea bass with leeks, cherry tomatoes, calamansi, and fregola sarda, as well as a stuffed zucchini with silken tofu cream, polenta, and zucchini salsa. This is complemented by steaks from the beef back and beef fillet, served with fries, béarnaise sauce, and salad. The desserts also remain true to this style, such as grilled peach with apricot chutney, black tea sorbet, and crèmeux, tarte tatin with apple, zabaglione, and lemon sorbet, or sour cream sorbet with strawberries, sponge cake, basil, and white chocolate. Together, this creates a menu that sets both classic anchors and modern accents, fitting very well with an interest in menus, fine dining, seasonal cuisine, and special dishes. Weekly Menu and Lunch Menu in Ansbach

Another strong focus at Rau & Fein is the changing weekly menu. On the homepage, it is described as the current weekly menu titled Between Harvest & Enjoyment. Four seasonal courses, from a light appetizer to hearty game, are presented with attention to detail. The price is 80 euros per person, with a wine pairing offered for an additional 25 euros. This is particularly relevant for SEO considerations because search queries related to weekly menus, programs, lunch menus, and current menus often reflect very specific user intentions. Here, the house delivers a clear, tangible offer: a menu that is regularly rethought, creating a recurring reason to visit. The website also emphasizes that the weekly menu appears anew every two weeks. This appeals to people who want to return regularly without experiencing the same selection. The lunch menu is also clearly structured and shows that Rau & Fein is not only suitable for a long evening but also for a focused lunch appointment. From 12 to 5 PM, Wednesday to Saturday, there is a separate selection of appetizers, main courses, and desserts. For example, there are salads with filet tips, oyster mushrooms, or shrimp, sea bass ceviche with bell pepper, passion fruit, jalapeños, and herbs, beef tartare with Dijon mustard, salad, and bread, as well as moules frites with fries, root vegetables, and fresh herbs. Main courses include pasta with seasonal mushrooms and sugar snap peas, Wiener schnitzel with veal, fries, salad, and lingonberries, gnocchi with sautéed vegetables, zucchini salsa, pine nuts, lemon, and basil, beef back, and beef fillet. This creates a very useful combination of midday accessibility and evening enjoyment orientation. The lunch menu also shows that the house offers both vegetarian and meat- and fish-based options without losing its fine touch. Therefore, those searching for a weekly menu, lunch menu, current menu, or seasonal menu will find an offer here that not only fulfills keywords but is also content-wise comprehensible and practically inviting. ([rauundfein.de](https://rauundfein.de/))

Wine List and Open Pairing with the Menu

The wine list at Rau & Fein is small but deliberately curated. This is an important indication for a fine dining address because a compact, carefully assembled selection is often more closely aligned with the menu than a potentially extensive but confusing list. The house describes its wines as an accompaniment to the cuisine and highlights Franconian family wineries as well as European discoveries. Additionally, all wines are served open, either in 0.1 liters for tasting or in 0.2 liters for enjoyment. For guests, this means high flexibility: one can gradually approach the pairing with the menu, compare several styles, or specifically choose a glass that matches the respective course. The white wines include Silvaner from the family winery Nickel from Franconia, Weißburgunder from Oliver & Wolfgang Gabel from the Palatinate, Sulzfelder Silvaner from Zehnthof-Luckert, Verdejo from Dominio de Verderrubi from Rueda, Chardonnay Fou de Chene IGP from Domaine de Pothiers from the Loire, and Naturaleza Salvaje Orange from Azul y Garanza from Navarra. Among the red wines, Spätburgunder Tradition from the family winery Nickel, A Coté IGP from Domaine Charvin from France, Solar de Líbano from Rioja, Primitivo IGT from Apulia, and Valmengaux from Bordeaux are mentioned. The selection is complemented by sparkling wine and champagne, including Griesel Weiß, Griesel Rosé, Fourny & Fils Champagne, and Fourny & Fils Champagne Rosé. The website explicitly states that the team is happy to advise on the suitable pairing with the menu at the table. This personal advisory approach fits the overall concept of the house: not over-staged but attentive, personal, and with a sense for the moment. For search queries related to wine lists, by the glass, pairing, champagne, or fine wines, this is particularly relevant because Rau & Fein does not just offer a few standard positions but a deliberately formulated selection with clear provenance and fine aspirations. This also fits the overall picture of a restaurant that wants to combine closeness and clarity. Regarding opening hours, the homepage is currently the most important orientation: Wednesday to Saturday from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Sunday from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with Monday and Tuesday as rest days. The menu also shows that the lunch offer is available from Wednesday to Saturday between 12 and 5 PM. Had a great dinner here tonight, absolutely love that Ansbach now has a restaurant that feels like “fine dining”. The interior is sleek, clean, and beautiful. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. Our server was very friendly and attentive. It was an amazing experience and we’ll definitely be back here. The small complimentary plate of food that the chef made us was also an excellent touch that shows how much this restaurant cares about making food and about its guests.

You notice the pleasant atmosphere as soon as you enter – stylishly furnished, yet cozy and inviting. The service was attentive, friendly, and never intrusive. The menu offers a successful selection of dishes. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the ingredients – everything seemed fresh and excellently balanced. My dish was prepared to perfection in terms of flavor and beautifully presented. The restaurant is also fairly priced, especially considering the quality offered. The waiting times were pleasantly short, and overall, you felt that a lot of value is placed on details here. I can definitely recommend this restaurant and will gladly return – both for special occasions and for a relaxed evening.

We had a very nice dinner at this restaurant. The menu is exciting, modern, and creative, and I could hardly decide. The service is very attentive and friendly, which made us very happy. There’s even a selection of non-alcoholic wines, which I find very contemporary. The dishes were also very tasty, although we had hoped for a bit more here and there. The tartare was not hand-cut and could have been seasoned a bit bolder. The tartare portion was also really small, which was a shame. We sat outside, which was very pleasant. I also looked around inside, and the ambiance could be a bit more elegant there to match the culinary concept. If they adjust a bit here and there, this will certainly become our favorite place. We will gladly come back.
