This is particularly practical for shorter stays in the city center because one does not have to unnecessarily exceed the parking time. For visitors from other cities, it is also relevant that Ansbach has explicitly activated mobile parking in public parking areas and in the Parking Garage Old Town. This is a good example of how traditional parking garages and digital mobility solutions work together today. For users who value easy operation and transparent billing when parking, the Parking Garage Old Town is therefore particularly attractive. Parking Spaces, License Plate Recognition, and Height Restrictions
The Parking Garage Old Town / Mühlbach currently has 233 parking spaces according to the city's overview. This number is important for visitors because it gives a sense of the scale of the parking garage and shows that it is not a small peripheral solution but a relevant component of the inner-city infrastructure. In the same overview, the city designates the parking garage as an area with license plate recognition. This aligns with the current trend to make parking garages more technical, convenient, and at the same time better controllable. For users, this usually means more clarity when entering and exiting and a better connection between booked parking time and actual use. Especially on heavily frequented days, such a structure is helpful because it organizes the flow in the parking garage and makes parking management more efficient. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/%C3%96PNV-Verkehr/Parken/?utm_source=openai))
Another practical point is the height restriction. The city of Ansbach states a maximum height of 1.90 m for long-term parking spaces in the Parking Garage Old Town. This is not only interesting for larger family vehicles or vans but also for anyone traveling with accessories like roof boxes who want to know in advance whether their vehicle fits in the parking garage. Equally important is the note that the Parking Garage Old Town / Mühlbach is not publicly designated. As a result, free parking for vehicles with electric license plates is not available; the severely disabled ID and certain exceptions from the road traffic office do not automatically lead to free parking here either. Knowing these rules saves time and avoids trouble at the entrance. The parking garage is thus clearly regulated, technically organized, and designed for predictable use. For many drivers, this combination of structure, availability, and city center location is the reason why the Parking Garage Old Town is considered the first choice for Ansbach. Long-Term Parking and Permanent Parking Spaces in the Parking Garage Old Town
Not only short-term parkers but also regular users of the city center benefit from the Parking Garage Old Town. The city of Ansbach explicitly offers permanent parking spaces there. A yearly rental agreement applies with a minimum rental period of three months. The parking space rent is €55.00 per month or €600.00 per year. This information is particularly interesting for people who work in the city center, regularly attend appointments, or want to park their vehicle permanently near the Old Town. For them, a fixed parking space is often much more convenient than searching for free parking spaces every day. The city additionally points out that interested parties can be placed on a waiting list and can contact the property office for further questions. This makes the Parking Garage Old Town a real long-term solution in the center of Ansbach. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/%C3%96PNV-Verkehr/Parken/Dauerstellpl%C3%A4tze/?utm_source=openai))
In the larger context of the city's parking policy, this is exactly what is politically desired. The city of Ansbach describes in its parking management concept that long-term parking should be directed more towards parking garages and large parking lots. The goal is to reduce search traffic in the city center and keep more parking spaces available for short-term visitors. The Parking Garage Old Town fits very well into this strategy because it is centrally located and can also be used for long-term parking. This is sensible for residents, employees, and regular visitors because it prevents the city center from being blocked by permanently occupied street spaces. So, anyone who visits the Old Town not just occasionally but repeatedly will find a predictable option with fixed costs in the Parking Garage Old Town. Especially in a city center like Ansbach, which combines many historical, cultural, and commercial destinations, this form of long-term parking is an important relief factor. Why the Parking Garage Old Town is Particularly Practical for City Center Visits
The Parking Garage Old Town is not just a place to park the car but part of a larger inner-city structure. Ansbach emphasizes on its official page the picturesque Old Town, short distances, vibrant history, diverse gastronomy, and an attractive inner-city retail center. Exactly in this environment, the Parking Garage Old Town has its greatest advantage: it brings drivers directly within reach of the destinations that attract many people to the city center. Whether for shopping, an appointment, a walk, or a restaurant visit, visitors benefit from a parking space that sets the starting point not far outside but right in the urban center. This makes the city more accessible for visitors, and the stay begins without a long search for parking. The parking garage is thus particularly attractive for anyone who wants to experience Ansbach easily, purposefully, and without detours. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/Rathaus-Service/B%C3%BCrgerservice-Online-Dienste/?utm_source=openai))
From the perspective of urban development, this also makes sense. The parking management concept shows that while there is generally enough parking space in Ansbach, the burdens are distributed unevenly. Parking garages and large parking lots are, according to the analysis, far from being fully utilized, while short-term bottlenecks can occur in the city center when long-term parkers occupy spaces. This is exactly where the Parking Garage Old Town helps as a structured alternative and destination. It creates order, makes parking more predictable, and supports access to the city center. For visitors, this means: less stress, better planning, and a parking space that fits a city center visit. So, anyone looking for a central parking garage in Ansbach that sensibly combines rates, location, and digital payment options will find the Parking Garage Old Town a very suitable solution. The combination of 233 parking spaces, mobile parking, clear rate structure, and proximity to the Old Town makes the location one of the most practical parking addresses in the city. I'm giving the only star for the parking near the city center. The stairwell stinks and is very dirty. Restrooms are permanently closed. The parking fee is too high!

Good value for money. The parking garage is a 5-minute walk from the old town. Only the low entrance height prevents parking for cars with roof boxes. There are two pay machines in the entrance area, and EC and cash payments are accepted.
