Parking Garage Old Town | Parking & Prices

The Parking Garage Old Town is a central parking option in Ansbach for anyone who wants to quickly and conveniently access the city center, the old town, or the surrounding areas. The address Am Mühlbach 2 is located in the urban environment and makes the parking garage a practical base for errands, short city visits, and longer stays. With 233 parking spaces, the parking garage is one of the established options in the city's parking offerings and complements the other parking areas in the city center. The city of Ansbach explicitly includes the Parking Garage Old Town or Parking Garage Old Town / Mühlbach in its parking space offerings and simultaneously points out that the facility is not publicly dedicated. For visitors, it is especially important: This is not a peripheral location, but rather a centrally located site clearly oriented towards convenient parking in the old town. Since the switch to digital parking management, parking has also become significantly more modern, as the system operates without tickets and the parking time is automatically recorded. Those who want to experience Ansbach from its practical side will find here a compact, urban solution with clear rates, short pathways, and easily understandable usage. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/Rathaus-Service/B%C3%BCrgerservice-Online-Dienste/Fundsachen/index.php?FID=2595.728.1&ModID=9&NavID=2595.189&object=tx%7C2595.2&utm_source=openai))

For regular users, the Parking Garage Old Town is also interesting because the city of Ansbach not only offers short-term parking but also permanent parking solutions here. This is particularly relevant for commuters, city center employees, and residents who are reliably looking for a parking space in a central location. At the same time, the city's parking management concept shows that Ansbach wants to direct longer parking specifically to parking garages and large parking lots to keep public street space more available for short-term parking. The Parking Garage Old Town fits very well into this concept. It combines the classic utility of a city center parking garage with a modern, ticketless system and a clear rate structure. So, for those who want to not only park spontaneously but also regularly use the central location, this offers a practical and understandable solution. Parking without a Ticket in the Parking Garage Old Town

The most important change in the Parking Garage Old Town is the new ticketless organization. The city of Ansbach has renewed the parking system in the urban parking garages in the old town and at the train station and has relied on a digital parking management system without tickets since October 7, 2025. The parking time is automatically recorded, making the entire process easier for users. Upon entry, there is no need to take a paper ticket, so it cannot be lost. This is particularly pleasant for people who only want to briefly visit the city center, but also for everyone who appreciates keeping track of their parking activities. The city also emphasizes that the barrier system at the Parking Garage Old Town is eliminated by the new system. This makes the facility appear more modern, fluid, and less prone to disruptions than traditional parking garages with barrier operations. At the same time, the city points out that the license plate scanner system should not be equated with monitoring the parking area. License plates are recorded while surrounding image areas are automatically blacked out. This is an important point for everyone who values transparency and data protection when parking. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/index.php?FID=2595.20144.1&ModID=7&object=tx%2C2595.6&utm_source=openai))

In practice, this means: Parking in the Parking Garage Old Town has not only become more modern but also more flexible. The open fees can still be paid on-site at a machine by entering the license plate. Additionally, payment is possible online up to 24 hours after leaving the parking garage, and those who already use EasyPark can also use this app. This allows the parking garage to adapt to different user habits. This is particularly helpful for people who decide spontaneously when to leave or who do not want to think about the payment machine immediately after shopping, a doctor's appointment, or a visit to the authorities. The ticketless system also reduces waste and avoids resource consumption, as no paper output is necessary anymore. In conjunction with the central location, this creates a parking concept that simply and efficiently works in everyday life. This is exactly what makes the Parking Garage Old Town a contemporary solution for Ansbach's city center. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/index.php?FID=2595.20144.1&ModID=7&object=tx%2C2595.6&utm_source=openai))

Prices, Rates, and Payment Overview

The parking fees for the Parking Garage Old Town are clearly regulated and publicly displayed by the city of Ansbach. For the Parking Garage Old Town / Mühlbach, a graduated fee of 1.20 euros per started hour applies. A minimum fee of 0.60 euros is set for the first two started half-hours. The maximum daily fee is 6.00 euros. Additionally, a night rate applies every day: From 8 PM to 8 AM the following day, parking costs a flat rate of 1.20 euros, regardless of the actual parking duration. This makes the parking garage transparent and calculable for both short city visits and longer evening or night stays. This clarity is particularly important for many users as they can already estimate in advance what costs they will incur. Compared to a parking system with unclear billing, this is a significant advantage. Those who only drive into the city for a task or a short appointment benefit from the low entry fee; those who stay longer still have the security of a daily maximum limit. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/%C3%96PNV-Verkehr/Parken?utm_source=openai))

The city of Ansbach also explains that the fees in the digital system can be paid in several ways. On-site, you can simply enter the license plate at the machine and pay the outstanding costs. Alternatively, payment is possible online up to 24 hours after exiting. Additionally, apps like EasyPark are accepted. This multiple solution is particularly practical because it caters to different user groups: spontaneous visitors, digital everyday users, and people who prefer to pay directly on-site. The parking garage also plays an important role in the city's overall strategy. The parking management concept states that the supply of parking spaces in the city center overall exceeds demand and that longer-term parking should be more directed towards parking garages and large parking lots. The Parking Garage Old Town is therefore not just a single parking location but part of an urban regulatory system for stationary traffic. Those who want to use the city center efficiently will find here not only a parking space but a comprehensible and politically desired parking model. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/%C3%96PNV-Verkehr/Verkehrsplanung/Parkraumbewirtschaftungskonzept/?utm_source=openai))

Permanent Parking Spaces and Height Restriction of 1.90 Meters

For many users, the Parking Garage Old Town is not just an address for occasional parking but also a candidate for a permanent parking space. The city of Ansbach offers the rental of permanent parking spaces in the city center and specifies a yearly rental contract for the Parking Garage Old Town with a minimum rental period of three months. The rent is listed by the city at 55 euros monthly or 600 euros annually. For people who regularly come to Ansbach, this is an interesting solution because it provides planning security and makes daily parking searches unnecessary. Especially for professional commuters, city center employees, and residents without their own parking space, a permanent parking space can significantly simplify everyday life. The city also points out that interested parties can be placed on a waiting list without obligation and that the property office is responsible for inquiries. This clear administrative structure makes the offer relatively uncomplicated. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/%C3%96PNV-Verkehr/Parken/Dauerstellpl%C3%A4tze/?utm_source=openai))

It is also important to note the height restriction. For the Parking Garage Old Town, the city specifies a maximum height of 1.90 meters. This should be noted by anyone traveling with taller vehicles, such as larger vans, SUVs with roof structures, or delivery vehicles. The indication that the parking garage is not publicly dedicated is also one of the practical details that should be known. The city also points out in its parking overview that there is no free parking for vehicles with electric license plates in the Parking Garage Old Town or Mühlbach. Therefore, those who rely on a possible fee exemption should not rely on assumptions but should check the city's conditions carefully. This is where the advantage of a clear information page becomes evident: instead of unclear exceptions, there are reliable details about height, contract duration, and rates. For regular users, this is the best basis for realistically assessing the parking garage. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/%C3%96PNV-Verkehr/Parken?utm_source=openai))

Address, Access, and Location in Ansbach

The address of the parking garage is Am Mühlbach 2, 91522 Ansbach. This location already shows that it is a very centrally located parking offer. The city includes the Parking Garage Old Town in its official directories and thus clearly locates it in the center of the city. For visitors, this means especially short distances: Those who want to go to the old town do not have to park on the outskirts and then take longer walks but can park their car in an urban parking garage and reach the city center from there. This is practical, especially for appointments, shopping, restaurant visits, or a short city stroll. The digital parking management additionally supports a smooth process as there is no barrier stop and no ticket storage necessary anymore. The location at Mühlbach also makes the parking garage a typical city parking garage: close to the action, suitable for everyday trips, and oriented towards the needs of city center visitors. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/Rathaus-Service/B%C3%BCrgerservice-Online-Dienste/Fundsachen/index.php?FID=2595.728.1&ModID=9&NavID=2595.189&object=tx%7C2595.2&utm_source=openai))

In a larger context, the Parking Garage Old Town is part of a densely structured parking offer in Ansbach. The city speaks of more than 4,000 parking spaces in the city center and distributes the offer across different categories and locations. At the same time, the parking management concept shows that the city strategically manages stationary traffic: short-term parking should primarily take place in the street space, while longer parking should increasingly occur in parking garages and large parking lots. This is good news for the Parking Garage Old Town, as it is built exactly for this purpose and is designed for it. Visitors thus receive a meaningful connection of location, accessibility, and usability. Those who want to explore the old town, attend an appointment, or run several errands consecutively will find a logical access and parking solution here. Especially in everyday life, not only the price counts but also reliability. And this reliability is exactly what the Parking Garage Old Town offers with its fixed address, clear tariff situation, and good integration into the city's parking system. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/%C3%96PNV-Verkehr/Parken?utm_source=openai))

Why the Parking Garage Old Town is Sensible for Visits, Everyday Life, and Longer Parking

The Parking Garage Old Town is particularly well-suited for people who want to use the Ansbach city center not just briefly but consciously and without stress. Those who drive to the old town usually do not want to search long for a free spot but want to arrive directly, get out, and go. This is exactly what a city parking garage is the right solution for. The combination of central location, 233 parking spaces, ticketless system, and understandable fees makes the parking garage suitable for many situations. Additionally, the city of Ansbach describes the overall parking offer as sufficient but used differently and states in the concept that parking in parking garages and large parking lots should be used more for longer stays. This strategy suggests that the Parking Garage Old Town should not only be seen as a stopgap but as a deliberately planned address for city center traffic. For visitors to the old town, for errands in the center, or for regular trips, this is a real added value. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/%C3%96PNV-Verkehr/Parken?utm_source=openai))

Even in everyday life, the advantages of such a parking garage quickly become apparent. Those who are often on the road in Ansbach know the typical requirements: reliable availability, clear rates, easy payment, and as little organizational effort as possible. Exactly that is what the Parking Garage Old Town delivers in a modern form. The ticketless system is convenient, online payment provides flexibility, and the option of permanent parking spaces is particularly attractive for regular users. At the same time, the offer remains factual and urban: no overloaded event language, but a clearly structured parking garage for real needs. The fact that the city of Ansbach has also equipped the parking garage with a night rate and a maximum daily fee further increases planning security. Those who stay longer do not have to expect overwhelming costs. Thus, the Parking Garage Old Town becomes a good example of modern city center mobility: simple, understandable, and oriented towards concrete use. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/index.php?FID=2595.20144.1&ModID=7&object=tx%2C2595.6&utm_source=openai))

Special Notes for Electric License Plates, Service, and Practical Use

Some details are particularly important for the use of the Parking Garage Old Town. The city explicitly points out that the Parking Garage Old Town or Mühlbach is not publicly dedicated and therefore there is no free parking for vehicles with electric license plates. This is a clear statement and prevents misunderstandings on-site. Those arriving with an electric vehicle should not automatically assume that the fee is waived but should plan for the valid conditions. Also relevant is the possibility to pay fees not only directly at the machine but also online up to 24 hours after exiting. This facilitates everyday use and reduces stress when leaving. Additionally, the EasyPark app supports payment, which is a practical advantage for digital users. This combination of clear regulations and flexible payment makes the parking garage pleasant in practice. ([ansbach.de](https://www.ansbach.de/B%C3%BCrger/%C3%96PNV-Verkehr/Parken?utm_source=openai))

Those who regularly use the Parking Garage Old Town also benefit from the permanent parking spaces and the clear height specification of 1.90 meters. This makes it easy to assess in advance whether one's vehicle fits and whether a long-term contract is worthwhile. The city's systematics with minimum rental periods, monthly and annual prices, and waiting lists is very useful for a municipal parking solution as it makes access to a permanent parking space relatively transparent. For Ansbach overall, the Parking Garage Old Town is therefore more than just a parking lot: it is part of an urban strategy to keep the city center accessible while efficiently organizing traffic space. Those who understand these backgrounds also better understand the role of the parking garage. It stands for the pragmatic side of a city center where short distances, predictable costs, and modern processing come together. That is why the Parking Garage Old Town is relevant for residents, commuters, and visitors alike. I give the only star for parking close to the city. It smells in the stairwell and it's very dirty. The restrooms are permanently closed. The parking fee is too high for that!

Good value for money. The parking garage is a 5-minute walk from the Old Town. Only the low entrance height prevents parking cars with roof boxes. There are 2 payment machines at the entrance, both card and cash payments are possible.
