Photos, Atmosphere, and Cinema Halls: How to Sit Best at Capitol
The Capitol Kinocenter is focused on comfort and clear sightlines. The five halls are designed so that you have a very good view of the screen from every seat. This is ensured by the hall inclines and the placement of the rows; the seats are anatomically shaped, offer noticeably more legroom, and thus a relaxed seating experience even during long films. The decor follows a pleasant, harmoniously coordinated color scheme that interacts with the hall lighting and creates a calm atmosphere before the film begins. Two of the screens are particularly large – with around 65 and 70 square meters, they offer an impressive projection area that, in conjunction with the sound system, enhances the film experience. For sound, the Capitol relies on Dolby Digital Surround; dialogues are clearly understandable, and effects can be precisely located. In everyday life, this means for you: you do not have to worry about the “perfect” individual seat, as the hall geometry ensures reliable sightlines and balanced sound distribution throughout the entire room. If you generally appreciate a bit more legroom, opt for aisle seats or seats with greater row spacing, as is often common in the back areas; however, due to the overall generous design, the difference is less than in many older cinemas. Before the screening, the multi-story entrance area with its concession area invites you to linger. Here you can get snacks and drinks and meet up with your companions; the pathways to the halls are short, which is especially pleasant during tightly scheduled start times. Photos of the foyer and the halls provide a good impression of the atmosphere on the website; images from city and tourism communication also give an overview of the appearance. If you are going with children, it is worth arriving a bit earlier: this way, there is enough time to choose drinks and favorite snacks together and find the right seat without haste. For 3D fans, the rule is: get glasses in time or bring your own; soft pads help sensitive noses. History and Special Features of Capitol Kinocenter Ansbach
The Capitol has been an integral part of the cultural landscape of Ansbach for decades. Founded in 1956, the venue was taken over by Heinz Dunz in 1977, who has been active in the film business for many years. In 1982, it was converted into a modern cinema center with three halls; in 1996, it underwent extensive renovation. With the beginning of the 2000s, the next expansion phase started: to meet the increasing expectations of the audience, two additional halls were planned. Construction began in 2002, using a 15-meter-high drilling rig for the foundation – an indication that the extension was technically demanding. The schedule was ambitious and was adhered to: on November 28, 2002, Hall 4 opened in time for the nationwide release of a James Bond film, and on December 18, 2002, Hall 5 followed simultaneously with the nationwide release of 'The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers'. By March 2003, all work was completed, and since then, the entire complex has been fully available. The result of the expansion continues to shape the character of the venue today: five cinema halls with modern technology, large screens, and optimized sightlines for all seats. The two new halls were equipped to a particularly high standard and continue the venue's line in conjunction with the renovated existing halls: comfortable, anatomically shaped seats, carefully coordinated color and lighting design, and sound in Dolby Digital Surround standard. The entrance area was also generously redesigned, including a multi-level concession area – a meeting point that creates quality of stay before and after screenings. The history shows that the Capitol continuously invests in technology and experience, thus maintaining the balance between tradition and modernity. This is evident not only in the hall technology but also in the pragmatic service orientation: central location, good accessibility by bus and train, parking directly across the street, and clear information about the program, opening, and prices. Those who follow the development of regional cinemas recognize here an example of how a historically grown film theater preserves its identity while remaining contemporary – with five halls, strong screens, and reliable quality in image and sound. Thus, the Capitol Kinocenter remains a go-to place for Ansbach and the surrounding area when it comes to current cinema releases, family films, event series, and special screenings for groups.

Vouchers for instant printing can be purchased online and are an uncomplicated gift; they are also suitable if you do not want to commit to a specific film yet. For schools, clubs, university groups, or companies, there are special screenings in the morning or afternoon. The conditions are clear: for currently running films, a minimum number of visitors of about 50 people is required; additionally, the cinema can book older titles upon request, provided they are available. Coordination takes place by phone or email, so that dates, film selection, and any educational materials can be clarified in good time. Such screenings are particularly popular during project weeks, action days, or season finales because the large screen makes the material visually appealing and promotes the shared experience. Another plus are special event series that complement the program – for example, Sneak Previews, where an upcoming film is shown in advance without announcing the title, or special evenings dedicated to certain genres. Such formats bring variety and appeal to curious cinema-goers who enjoy discovering new things. Transparent information about 3D surcharges and glasses makes cost calculation easy; those who frequently watch 3D benefit from bringing their own glasses. For families, it is helpful to pay attention to earlier start times; these are marked in the program overview. If you are coming by public transport, the stop directly in front of the entrance is ideal, while those driving benefit from the parking spaces in Citypark. The short paths in the house make orientation easier, and the spacious foyer area provides space to meet before or after the film. If you value planning and price security, also check the 'Opening Hours/Prices' overview before your visit, which also mentions exceptions (e.g., holidays, previews). This way, a cinema visit can be relaxed and without waiting times – whether for two, with family, or as a group.

The cinema has a nice atmosphere and is quite clean, and the ticket prices are reasonable in my opinion. However, the food and drinks are pretty expensive. (Which is usually the case in cinemas)

A cancellation fee of €2 for 2 tickets more than 48 hours before the show is outdated and I don't know it like that from the cinemas in Munich that I usually visit. Also, I find the prices for snacks and drinks to be very high. The VIP seats aren't super comfortable, but the ticket prices were cheap.

Nice little cinema. We watched Minecraft and could pretty much choose our seats freely. The seats are comfortable, the prices are reasonable. Everything was clean and tidy. The staff member at the counter and sales was nice. We like coming here when there's a good movie.

Just a cinema center. Expensive parking on Sundays in the parking garage. Simple cinema, but for €11 it's okay.

A small, nice cinema. Everything your heart desires, from the drink selection to the sweets. Restrooms clean, cinema air-conditioned but not too cold. Very friendly staff 👍
