Atmospheric start to the Ansbach Christmas Market
On Thursday, November 26, 2026, the Advent season begins in Ansbach with the festive opening of the Christmas market. Around St. Johannis, the Town House, and the Town Hall, the kickoff combines Christmas market tradition with music, exhibitions, and Franconian crafts culture.
Christmas Exhibition at the Town House
The event evening starts at 5:30 PM with the opening of the Christmas exhibition at the Town House. Here, regional craftsmanship is the focus and prepares visitors for the pre-Christmas days in the Ansbach city center.
Musical Opening at St. Johannis
At 6:00 PM, the Christmas market will be officially opened at St. Johannis. The musical arrangement will be provided by the CVJM Brass Band and the Ansbach Children's Choir. Festive sounds, historical downtown atmosphere, and the start of market activities create a reflective beginning for market visitors from Ansbach and the region.
Craftsman Nativity Scene at the Town Hall
The conclusion of the opening program will be the opening of the craftsman nativity scene at the Town Hall at 7:30 PM. This evening connects the Christmas market, exhibition, and traditional craft presentation at several central locations in the Ansbach Old Town.
Conclusion
The opening of the Christmas market in Ansbach offers a varied start to the Advent season: with a Christmas exhibition, musical accompaniment, and Franconian craftsman nativity scene. Those who wish to experience the special market atmosphere of the Ansbach city center live will find a festive occasion for the first Christmas market visit of the season on November 26, 2026.
