Street Gallery. So Good!: When young art transforms urban space
With Street Gallery. So Good!, the new art project Street Canvas starts at Kunsthaus R3 in Ansbach. Children and teenagers aged between 11 and 16 will collaboratively develop a public gallery and bring their own images from their private environment into the urban space.
A gallery emerges from many personal images
The focus is on the collective design of a large Art Gallery. Participants draw numerous picture frames and fill each frame with a personal artwork. From individual ideas, stories, and expressions, a shared artwork with urban presence arises.
Cultural education with visible impact
The project combines painting, drawing, aesthetic experience, and cultural education. No prior knowledge is required. The young participants experiment with their own visual languages, experience creative collaboration, and learn how art creates encounters in public space.
Street Canvas: Art where people come together
Street Canvas brings art from enclosed spaces into the city. The works are not only observed but also become part of everyday pathways, creating a vibrant exhibition atmosphere. The curation is developed collectively: many individual perspectives merge into a temporary Street Gallery.
Five dates for a shared art experience
The workshop block takes place on October 16 and 30, November 20, and December 4 and 18, 2026, each from 5 to 7 p.m. The project is led by Juyeon Choi. The participation fee is 35 euros per block with five dates; a reduced participation fee of 5 euros is also available.
Conclusion: Street Gallery. So Good! offers young people direct access to contemporary art, work observation, and public space. Those who wish to see how individual drawings grow into a shared gallery will find an inspiring art experience with lasting impact at Kunsthaus R3.
